What a Difference a Font size
Can Make in a Web Page
|
A word about Web Page Uniformity--or the lack there of:
One of the pesky problems with ~/ .html, is the fact that the
same page viewed by different folks' Browsers don't necessarily look the
same.
One popular solution, is to substitute ~ .gif images of the text where the author desires uniformity. Of course, this initially slows the page. Another solution is the use of Dynamic Fonts. This is where a Page requires a specific Font Set which must be loaded into the Browser, either from one's local HD or the server. As with the ~ .gif solution, it takes time; also as one scrolls the page there is a definite latency. I have chosen to use Standard Text for my pages. There are enough Images,
with their attendant overhead, without adding even more.
